Job summary

The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission is looking for a Parks/Facilities Maintenance Leader with a CDL to manage the Show Place Arena/Prince George’s Equestrian Center in Upper Marlboro, MD. You will oversee outdoor facilities, supervise maintenance staff, and coordinate heavy equipment operations to ensure safe, ready venues for events.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; five years of progressive grounds/park maintenance experience.
• Valid driver's license is required with potential CDL endorsements within 12 months of hire.
• Commercial driver's license with Tanker Endorsement may be required depending on assignment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operation, maintenance and safety of outdoor and equestrian facilities at Show Place Arena/PG County Equestrian Center.
• Supervise full‑time and part‑time maintenance staff; manage scheduling and safety training.
• Operate and coordinate heavy equipment and attachments (Bobcat, loader, tractor, etc.).
• Lead preventive maintenance and emergency repairs during events; ensure equipment readiness.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and proper PPE usage; coordinate with event staff.
