Job summary

City of Maypearl is seeking a part-time custodial worker to perform routine housekeeping in city parks, facilities, restrooms, and public spaces. The role emphasizes evening, night, and weekend hours, with up to 20 hours per week based on needs.

Primary duties include cleaning, sanitizing, trash removal, equipment maintenance, and assisting with event setup. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, with prior custodial or outdoor maintenance experience desirable.

Qualifications

• Custodial, janitorial, or maintenance experience preferred.
• Experience in parks or outdoor maintenance is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and sanitizes park restrooms, pavilions, playground areas, and other facilities.
• Empties trash receptacles and replaces liners throughout parks and public areas.
• Picks up litter and debris across park grounds, trails, and parking areas.
• Sweeps, mops, and pressure washes surfaces and structures.
• Inspects facilities for damage, safety hazards, or vandalism and reports issues to supervisor.
• Performs minor maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, tightening fixtures, and completing basic repairs.
• Restocks restroom supplies including soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
• Assists with event setup and breakdown, including tables, chairs, and waste stations.
• Maintains cleanliness of park equipment and assigned vehicles.
• Operates and uses cleaning chemicals and equipment in accordance with safety procedures.
• Interacts professionally and courteously with the public, coworkers, and other stakeholders.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES

• Must possess and maintain a valid Class “C” Texas Driver License and clean driving record
