Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of heavy equipment operation experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to work with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Operate light and heavy equipment for parks, recreation and golf construction and maintenance.
• Inspect and service equipment; report repairs in a timely manner.
• Perform concrete, masonry, carpentry, electrical and plumbing tasks as needed.
• Install playground equipment and maintain outdoor facilities.
• Lead and organize seasonal park staff and crews.
• Conduct routine mowing, trimming, tree work and welding tasks.
• Paint buildings and equipment; assist harbor maintenance as required.
• Follow safety practices and city policies; participate in process improvements.
