Parks and Streets Maintenance Technician

Job Description

The City of Pine Island is accepting applications for the position of Maintenance Technician within the Streets/Parks Department. Under the direction of the Public Works Director, the technician performs manual labor, operates, and maintains equipment to provide general maintenance to city streets, utilities, buildings, and parks.

Responsibilities
  • Perform manual labor and operate maintenance equipment.
  • Maintain city streets, utilities, buildings, and parks.
Qualifications
  • Class B Driver’s License within 6 months of hire (air brake endorsement required).
  • Ability to operate various maintenance equipment.
  • Knowledge of street, utility, and park maintenance procedures.
  • Mechanical and welding experience preferred.
  • Ability to perform heavy manual work.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with the public and city staff.
  • Self-starter attitude.
  • High School Diploma and three years of experience or equivalent.
Additional Information
  • Will rotate on-call hours including weekends.
  • Salary dependent on qualifications.
