Job summary

Home Instead in DeKalb, IL is seeking one to two dedicated caregivers to assist seniors living with Parkinson's Disease in their homes. You will provide personal care, support daily living activities, and help create a safe, comfortable environment.

The role requires compassionate care, reliable transportation, and the ability to work a two-week schedule with varied shifts. Competitive pay at $18/hr with benefits is offered.

Qualifications

• Experience assisting individuals living with Parkinson's Disease with ADLs.
• Ability to work in a home care setting and manage challenging behaviors.
• Experience with seniors preferred; under 65 with Parkinson's acceptable.
• Strong interpersonal skills to work with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one care including bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming.
• Assist daily living activities such as meal prep, medication management, and housekeeping.
• Create and follow personalized care plans for each client.
• Use behavior management techniques to ensure safety.
• Provide transportation to appointments as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe living environment per company standards.
• Build relationships with clients and families; provide emotional support.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
