Parking Services Attendant | Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center

Position Summary

Our Parking staff are often the first person our guests connect with upon arrival to the arena. The Parking Staff Team Member position requires the flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. Out-going and patron-friendly individuals are needed to become members of The Charleston Coliseum Parking Staff. The Charleston Coliseum Parking Staff provides excellent customer service to the arena guests and are often the first person our shows and premium guests connect with upon arrival. The ideal candidate will be able to communicate clearly and professionally with peers and guests and have the flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required.

This role will pay an hourly wage of $14.75 to $15.25.

Responsibilities
  • Greet arriving and departing guests in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Set up assigned parking areas as directed by Supervisor.
  • Standing in traffic to direct vehicles into and out of parking areas.
  • Verifies customers have proper parking pass for VIP parking areas.
  • Perform vehicle counts on location throughout shift to ensure garage does not over fill available spaces.
  • Control traffic at entrances and exits as needed.
  • Maintain equipment and any general maintenance tasks as directed by Supervisor.
  • Immediately report accidents, incidents, or safety concerns to Supervisor.
  • Always communicate professionally with guests, client, and teammates.
  • Communicate with guests who need directions on where to park and any questions they might have.
Qualifications
  • Prior customer service experience (entry level or supervisory) preferred.
  • Must have a positive and professional attitude and must possess outstanding communication skills.
  • Must be able to deal with uncooperative and/or intoxicated persons.
  • Required to work autonomously as well as in a team setting in a respectful and courteous manner.
  • Requires attention to detail and ability to adapt to changing and high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in all situations.
  • Must be able to work in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Aptitude to follow verbal/written directions.
  • Capability to show up to work as required on time.
Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Valid Driver's license or Identification Card.
  • Must pass background check.
