Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas is seeking a Parking Operations Associate to support parking operations, enforcement, customer service, and facility management on a 100% on-site basis, typically M-F 8am-5pm.

You will be the primary contact for staff, employees, and visitors, triaging inquiries, guiding to services and online tools, and ensuring timely resolution of requests while maintaining policy knowledge.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: 3 years in customer service, public contact, parking enforcement, or facilities operations with planning or coordination duties.
• Licenses: Valid Class C Texas Driver License with acceptable driving record.

• Monitor and follow up on pending requests to ensure prompt resolution.
• Educate customers on services and online tools; maintain knowledge of policies and updates.

• Conduct patrols across campus and offsite locations; identify violations or safety concerns.
• Coordinate maintenance of parking facilities and support equipment; assist with requisitions and inventory.

JOB SUMMARY

This position provides comprehensive support for parking operations, enforcement, customer service, and facility management to ensure efficient, safe, and customer-focused parking services. This role serves as a primary point of contact for inbound inquiries from staff, employees, and external customers; respond, triage, route, and resolve requests in a timely, professional manner. Additionally, this role monitors and follows up on pending requests to ensure prompt resolution, provides accurate information, resources, and guidance, including educating customers on available services and online tools and maintains working knowledge of policies, procedures, and updates to ensure consistent and accurate communication.

This position is 100% on site, M-F 8am-5pm.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Required

• Education High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience 3 years experience in customer service, public contact, parking enforcement, or facilities operations, including experience with planning, coordinating, or delivering facility-related functions (e.g., garage/lot maintenance, repairs, signage, utility systems, or safety).
• Licenses and Certifications Must have and maintain a valid Class "C" Texas Driver License with an acceptable driving record for use of a university vehicle. Upon Hire

• Experience 1 year experience in parking enforcement or related roles is preferred.

JOB DUTIES

• Serve as a primary point of contact for inbound inquiries from staff, employees, and external customers; respond, triage, route, and resolve requests in a timely, professional manner.
• Monitor and follow up on pending requests to ensure prompt resolution.
• Provide accurate information, resources, and guidance, including educating customers on available services and online tools.
• Maintain working knowledge of policies, procedures, and updates to ensure consistent and accurate communication.
• Interpret and enforce parking regulations and applicable state laws, issue warnings or citations as appropriate.
• Conduct patrols across campus and offsite locations to monitor compliance, perform space utilization counts, and identify violations or safety concerns.
• Investigate and resolve parking-related complaints proactively or as assigned.
• Utilize parking enforcement technologies, including handheld devices and license plate recognition systems.
• Assist motorists with vehicle-related issues such as flat tires and jumpstarts.
• Report criminal activity, traffic issues, and unusual incidents to appropriate personnel.
• Coordinate and support parking facility operations, including equipment installation, maintenance, and vendor services.
• Perform routine inspections (rounding) of parking facilities to ensure cleanliness, safety, and proper equipment functionality, document and report deficiencies.
• Assist with requisitions, inventory management, and procurement of equipment, supplies, and services.
• Coordinate maintenance of parking access and revenue control systems, lighting, signage, and overall facility conditions.
• Serve as a liaison with internal departments and external vendors to ensure timely completion of maintenance and operational needs.
• Promote high standards of customer service through professional interactions with employees, patients, and visitors.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and service delivery.
• Independently manage daily responsibilities by exercising sound judgment, prioritizing workload across functions, making policy-aligned decisions in the field, and proactively resolving or escalating issues as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
