Parking Lot Attendant White Pond & Beede Swim and Fitness

The Town of Concord is seeking responsible,courteous, and proactive individuals to serve as Parking Attendants at the Beede Swim and Fitness Center during the school year and White Pond during the summer season (June–August). Thisdynamic position involves managing parking lots, monitoring facility capacity,handling visitor check-ins and assisting members with general inquiries. TheParking Attendant plays a vital role in maintaining a safe and welcomingenvironment for the community.

Work at least two days per week andreceive a free Beede Swim & Fitness and White Pond Membership!

Pay range: $15-20/hour;starting pay based on qualifications. This is an hourly, part-time position,consisting of up to 20 hours per week.

Schedule:


White Pond (summer season June 16-August 17, 2025):

  • Weekdays: 4:00–7:00pm
  • Weekends: 10:00am–3:00pm / 3:00–7:00pm

Beede (school year):

  • Weekday mornings 7:15–8:15am

GENERAL SUMMARY:

As a Parking Attendant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth traffic flow and safety at both the Beede Swim & Fitness Center and White Pond. During the school year, you will manage traffic and assist students with assigned parking at Beede, particularly during peak hours (Monday–Friday, 7:15–8:15am), while enforcing parking regulations for non-permit holders. In the summer months, your focus shifts to White Pond, where you will assist with member check-ins, manage parking availability, monitor facility capacity, and help maintain a welcoming and organized entrance experience for all visitors.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

External and internal applicants, as well as position incumbents who are or become disabled as defined under the Americans With Disabilities Act, must be able to perform the essential job functions (as listed) either unaided or with the assistance of a reasonable accommodation to be determined by management on a case-by-case basis.

At Beede Swim & Fitness Center:

·Direct traffic and manage parking flow during student drop-off hours

·Assist students and Beede members with finding appropriate parking spaces

·Enforce parking regulations and redirect unauthorized vehicles

·Address questions, provide directions, and de-escalate conflicts when needed

·Report safety concerns, property damage, or incidents to management

At White Pond:

·Greet and check in members and guests

·Monitor and communicate parking and facility capacity via walkie-talkie

·Maintain signage regarding lot status (e.g., Open/Closed/At Capacity)

·Respond to inquiries and assist in special projects as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

None.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

¨Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with students, members, and guests in a courteous and professional manner.

¨Patience and Calm Under Pressure: Ability to remain calm and composed in high-stress situations, such as heavy traffic or conflicts between students and members.

¨Reliability: Punctuality and dependability are essential for this role, as volunteers will be needed during specific hours (Monday through Friday during the school year 7:15am-8:15am).

¨Attention to Detail: Ability to observe parking lot activity closely and identify any potential safety hazards or violations.

¨Conflict Resolution Skills: Ability to resolve conflicts and disagreements diplomatically and effectively.

¨Physical Stamina: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and work outdoors in various weather conditions.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

¨Must be 18 years of age or older.

¨Must agree to and pass a CORI and SORI Background Check, the cost of which will be borne by the Town.

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
