Job summary

Jamestown in Miami is seeking a Parking Enforcement Officer to monitor designated streets, lots, garages and campus areas to ensure compliance with parking policies and to provide helpful directions and information to visitors and staff.

Responsibilities include issuing citations, relocking or towing as directed, assisting with revenue reporting, supervising onsite staff, managing daily operations, and ensuring safety in all weather conditions, nights and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the day-to-day activities of all onsite employees.
  • The weekly schedule is Wednesday through Sunday 4:00pm-12:30am; Monday & Tuesday off.

Job description

Basic Function - Monitor designated streets, lots, garages, other public areas and/or an entire campus to ensure compliance with parking policies.

Responsibilities
  • Provide customer service by answering questions regarding directions, events, building locations and parking policies.
  • Participate in programs to improve client and customer satisfaction.
  • Engage in the development of property level financial and operations goals.
  • Assist in the management of day-to-day activities of the assigned locations including ensuring appropriate customer interaction, supervising the completion of all evening closing reports, supervising frontline staff, scheduling staff, inspecting all onsite parking equipment. Assuring all PARC’S system troubleshooting and replacing arm gates.
  • Courteously assist Customers by answering any question they may have.
  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of parking equipment and any general maintenance tasks as directed by the Operations/Facility Manager.
  • Report any known accidents, observe or suspected violations of Company policy, safety hazards or any unusual occurrence to the Operations/Facility Manager.
  • Assist with cleanup of debris, water, snow, oil spills and etc.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of all areas of the garage, through knowledge of the major streets, landmarks, and freeways in the area of the garage.
  • Assist Operations/Facility Manager with other duties as needed.
  • Issue citations and warnings for non-compliance with a computerized handheld computer or manual tickets. Impound, boot, or relocating vehicles as directed.
  • This position requires the ability to work alone and therefore must exercise proper judgment, tact, and diplomacy in dealing with people.
  • Reconciling parking tickets and required cashiers reports according to generally accepted parking operation auditing principles and in accordance with the policies set forth.
  • Available and able to respond to emergency situations during normally scheduled "off duty hours".
  • Work five days per week, ten hours a day. Nights and Weekends.
  • Understand and able to use the current and proposed equipment and any other equipment used in the parking operation.
  • Must have strong working knowledge of the use, repair, programming, limitations and capabilities of the parking.
  • Garages Daily Inspections and all PARC’s systems audit. Report on any conditions that need attention and repair/troubleshoot the PARC’s System. Repair parking equipment as needed
  • Prepare revenue reporting on a daily, monthly and yearly basis
  • Supervise the day-to-day activities of all onsite employees (Cashiers, Maintenance, Floaters, Special Event, etc.).
  • The weekly schedule:
  • Wednesday Thru Sunday 4:00pm-12:30am. Monday & Tuesday Off.
  • Full Time.
  • Assist maintenance staff with duties related to parking program and facility upkeep and maintenance. This includes but is not limited to inspecting and assessing lots for maintenance issues, painting, cleaning, and repairing parking meters and pay and display machines, installing signs, signposts, and meter posts.
  • Assist in the collection and security of all monies received through parking citation, multi-parking space, TEXT2PARK technology, Metropolis PARC’s parking equipment and any other means of collecting parking revenues and fees.
  • Assist event staff with activities related to parking for events. This includes but is not limited to setting up for events, traffic control, receipt of payment for parking, and lot usage control.
  • Assist office staff with activities related to permit sales during peak seasons. This includes but is not limited to data entry, collating mailings, and providing frontline customer service.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
  • Please note that Enforcement Officers are not sworn police officers and have no arresting authority.

License Requirement

The individual will only be required to have and maintain a valid state‑issued driver's license, with a current address and acceptable driving record, if the individual is expected to be able to drive a company vehicle or drive on company business.

Availability to Work: Special shift requirements, if any, will vary depending on the location’s hiring needs. If applicable, availability to work 2nd shift, 3rd shift and/or weekends may be required.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; talk and listen. Employees are regularly exposed to outside weather conditions including snowstorms, and extreme heat.

Employees work in and around potentially dangerous traffic situations, and employees are to be always safety conscious.
