Job summary

The Town of Palm Beach is seeking a Parking Enforcement professional to uphold parking and traffic regulations, issue citations, and ensure compliance with fines. The role includes operating vehicles, directing traffic at intersections, and assisting the public with questions about ordinances and parking meters.

Candidates must complete mandatory training programs, hold a Florida driver’s license, and be flexible to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays; overtime is possible as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must complete the Parking Enforcement Field Training Program (CJIS exam as scheduled).
• Must complete a 16-hour Parking Enforcement Specialist School as scheduled.
• Must possess a valid and unrestricted Florida driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Enforces traffic and parking regulations by issuing citations.
• Checks for overdue parking fines and applies vehicle immobilization devices when needed.
• Makes traffic surveys and completes written reports.
• Operates Town vehicles safely in daily operations.
• Directs traffic at intersections, including near schools and during incidents.
• Answer questions from the public and troubleshoot parking meters.
