Job summary

Spokane Airport is hiring a parking attendant to collect fees, operate the shuttle, and maintain parking areas with a focus on friendly, professional service.

You will handle cash, credit transactions, balance receipts, greet passengers, supervise boarding, and perform vehicle prep and basic maintenance. This on-site role requires a valid driver's license, good communication, physical stamina, and willingness to work varied shifts including weekends.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with Business Math.
  • Experience with cash, check, and credit card transactions and balancing receipts.
  • Direct customer service experience required.
  • Must possess a valid driver license, free of serious or frequent traffic violations.
  • Must have a clean, neat appearance, pleasant disposition.

Responsibilities

  • Collect parking fees from customers and process transactions.
  • Assure security of cash receipts and perform end-of-shift close-out procedures.
  • Greet passengers in a friendly, courteous manner and supervise boarding.
  • Prepare shuttle bus for operation and perform vehicle checks for damage and cleanliness.
  • Perform snow removal duties and general janitorial/maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Assist customers requesting directions and information in a courteous manner.
  • Report safety concerns and incidents; monitor two-way radio communications.

Job description

To collect parking fees, drive shuttle bus, maintain parking areas and provide excellent customer service.

  • Collect parking fees from customers, and process employee parking transactions, promissory notes and exception tickets.
  • Assure security of cash receipts and perform end-of-shift cash verification and close-out procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and perform minor equipment repair.
  • Perform car inventory procedures, and report within specified time requirements.
  • Greet passengers in a friendly, courteous manner.
  • Supervise the conduct of passengers in the vehicle and at boarding locations.
  • Prepare shuttle bus for operation and inspect for damage and clean at end of the shift.
  • Monitor two-way radio calls, report adverse conditions, and complete accident/incident reports.
  • Assist customers requesting directions and assistance in a courteous, professional manner.
  • Perform assigned snow removal duties.
  • Collect baggage carts.
  • Clean up of booth area and offices, pick up debris in the parking garages/lots and clean/wash equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience
  • High school diploma or GED with course in Business Math.
  • Experience with cash, check, and credit card transactions and balancingreceipts/cash reports required.Snow removal, janitorial, automotive maintenance/repairexperience preferred.
  • Direct customer service experience required.
  • Must possess a valid driver license, free of serious or frequent traffic violations.
  • Must have a clean, neat appearance, pleasant disposition.
Knowledge/Skills
  • Deliver excellent internal and external customer service.
  • Work as a contributing member of the team.
  • Read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Knowledge of cash handling procedures and ability to count.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Present in a professional manner and with excellent interpersonal skills in order to establish effective working relationships with others.
  • Must be able to work varying shifts, hours and days, including weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements
  • Requires the ability to lift, carry, push and pull objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Job function requires sitting and walkingfor extended periods, but also involve standing, stooping, kneeling, bending, lifting, carrying, and reaching.
  • Able to move about facilities & all areas of responsibility including in and out of toll booths and shuttle vehicles
  • Close vision and ability to read small print
  • Able to use hands to finger, handle, or feel
  • Ability to continuously exchange information through listening and talking with customers, coworkers, and other individuals required

WORKING CONDITIONS, TRAVEL, ENVIRONMENT AND POTENTIAL HAZARDS

Work inshuttlebusand small, semi-enclosed toll booth.Outdoor work requires occasional exposure to wind, rain, snow, ice and cold/hot weather extremes.Regular exposure to vehicle traffic, noise and exhaust.

EQUIPMENT OPERATION REQUIRED

Telephone, 2-way handheld radio, coin counter, cash register and master register, adding machine/calculator, credit card machine, computer (includes handheld P.C. and point-of-sale terminals), ticket dispenser and gates, shuttle bus, automobile, truck, tire pump, snow removal, lawn maintenance and cleaning equipment.
