Job description

Job Title: Bus Person

Responsible for ensuring that supplies and equipment are stocked and ready for service. Assists servers with guest satisfaction in all ways necessary. Other duties as required.

Job Functions:

1. Clean and reset tables for service according to department manual standard.
2. Adhere to LPM grooming/ service standards and policies.
3. Ensure all dirty China, silver, glasses, etc., go to the dishwasher and are broken down accordingly.
4. Replenish all service items: silverware, glassware, China, linen, general supplies, food as needed.
5. Ensure proper storage of all service items.
6. Ensure that cream, water, and juice service is constantly replenished during the service.
7. Stock jam, butter, and cream cheese for the next service period.
8. Set up breadbasket for the next service period.
9. Assist servers in serving guests.
10. Assist servers in pre-bussing tables.
11. Serve and replenish water upon guest request.
12. Assist other bus persons when needed.

Qualifications:

Essential:

• 6 months to one-year experience as a bus person or kitchen helper, providing the skills required for this position.
• Fluent in English; excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Desirable:

• High school graduate.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Essential:

• Knowledge of American table service.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Other Physical Abilities:

• Able to bend, lift, push, pull, and carry in excess of 50 pounds.
• Able to walk and stand for long periods.

Problem Solving:

• Handle pressure, interact well with people, work quickly and efficiently while remaining motivated and gracious.

Desirable:

• Fluency in another language.

Salary Range:

$17.44 - $23.25 per hour
