Job summary

Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) seeks an OPS Park Attendant to support maintenance at Rodman Campground and surrounding areas near Palatka, FL. The role includes upkeep of facilities, trails and park grounds to ensure safe, clean, and welcoming spaces for visitors.

The position requires practical maintenance and construction experience, good communication, and the ability to work with contractors. Pay is $15 per hour with seasonal/temporary status at the Ocala region parks.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include a valid driver’s license.
• Background/fingerprint check is required before employment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and protect state parks and recreation areas for visitor use.
• Maintain and operate trailheads, trails, recreation areas, and facilities in the Cross-Florida Greenway east end.
• Coordinate with crews and contractors to complete tasks to standards.
• Requisition or purchase tools, equipment, and materials for repairs.
• Operate heavy and small equipment; drive state vehicles and perform routine inspections.
• Interact with the public in a friendly and courteous manner.
