Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry seeks a Grounds Maintenance Assistant for Indian Creek Recreation Area in Rapides Parish. The role supports grounds upkeep, facility cleanliness, and guest services under the Maintenance Foreman; occasional oversight of offender labor is required.

This position is located within LDAF Office of Management & Finance/Indian Creek, in Rapides Parish.
The incumbent of this position will serve as support for the Indian Creek Recreation Area, owned and operated by the Department of Agriculture & Forestry. This recreation area is visited annually by over 300,000 people for its recreational facilities such as camping, boating, hiking, picnicking, and swimming. This position will require the incumbent to work on a flexible schedule to assist with peak attendance and special events. Supervision is received from the Maintenance Foreman.
Minimum Qualifications: One year of experience in building maintenance, clerical work, custodial work, food service work, or groundskeeping.

Must have a valid driver's license.
Must be able to successfully pass a background check and meet requirements to obtain/possess law enforcement commission in order to supervise offender labor provided by the Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office.
Appointment Type: WAE - Not to exceed 1245 hours in a 12-month period.
Compensation: The hourly rate offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
