The Office of State Parks in Louisiana is seeking a Groundskeeper/Custodian at Fontainebleau State Park in Mandeville, LA. The role involves cleaning interiors and exteriors of cabins, lodges, bathhouses, and rental facilities, and assisting with grounds maintenance.
No prior experience is required; training will be provided. The position has a 40-hour weekly schedule with rotating shifts, including holidays and weekends as needed. A state vehicle is available during duty.
The Office of State Parks (OSP) serves the citizens of Louisiana and visitors by preserving and interpreting natural areas of unique or exceptional scenic value, planning, developing and operating sites that provide outdoor recreation opportunities in natural surroundings, preserving and interpreting historical and scientific sites of statewide importance and administering intergovernmental programs related to outdoor recreation and trails.
This position is located at Fontainebleau State Park in Mandeville, LA. The purpose of this position is to perform groundskeeping and custodial duties to help maintain cleanliness and a safe environment for the customers. This includes all rental facilities including cabins, group camps, meeting rooms, bathhouses, etc. for indoor and outdoor cleaning, and as needed, assist with outdoor grounds maintenance such as trail cleanup or mowing.

Career Progression: This position may be filled as a Park Technician A, B, or C. As part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled based on the qualifications of the selected applicant. Work Schedule: State Parks are open 365 days a year. Position will work a rotating schedule of 40 hours/week, which can include holidays and/or weekends as needed, to ensure coverage at the park.
Travel: Position requires driving around the park as part of the daily shift. Travel may be required to other state parks to assist in staffing or events, as needed. A state vehicle is available for employee use while on duty.
Compensation: Compensation offered will be dependent on level of experience and certification, so please be sure to include all education and work experience for consideration.
