Job summary

Florida Department of Environmental Protection is seeking an OPS Park Ranger at John Pennekamp Coral State Park in Key Largo. The role covers visitor services, maintenance, protection, administration and resource management, with rotating shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities include guiding tours, processing fees, operating office equipment and boats up to 30 feet, enforcing park rules, and performing related tasks to support park operations.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to work rotating shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays
• Background checks required and (special trust) designation

Responsibilities

• Explain park facilities and services to visitors; provide information and directions
• Collect fees and balance cash drawer for admissions and tours
• Develop and lead guided interpretive programs and recreational skills programs
• Operate office equipment including POS, computer, copier, etc.
• Maintain facilities and equipment; perform maintenance tasks and safe handling of tools and materials
• Enforce park rules and protect natural, historical, and archaeological resources
• Perform related duties as required
