Job summary

City of Orlando is seeking a Part-Time Parks Attendant to monitor activity in City parks, provide basic visitor information, and help enforce park rules. The role involves outdoor work, walking and patrolling in varied weather, and a visible presence to support safety and cleanliness.

Under supervision of the Signature Parks and Events Program Manager and Parks Operations Supervisor, you will document findings, prepare daily reports, and rotate shifts to cover all parks.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/G.E.D. Certificate and two (2) years' experience in public contact work, preferably involving security required, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Valid Florida Driver's License required.
  • Experience for Degree Equivalents: Two (2) years for an associate degree; Four (4) years for a bachelor's degree; Six (6) years for a master's degree; Nine (9) years for a doctoral degree.

  • Documents findings and prepares daily reports on park attendance, incidents, accidents, injuries, and needed repairs.
  • Works primarily outdoors and requires frequent walking and patrolling in various weather conditions, including exposure to heat, rain, and insects.
  • Works rotating shifts with varied days off to ensure coverage across all parks.

Salary: $17.00 hourly

Work is performed under the general supervision of the Signature Parks and Events Program Manager and the Parks Operations Supervisor.

THIS IS A PART_TIME_POSITION WITH NO GUARANTEE OF A CERTAIN NUMBER OF HOURS AND NO BENEFITS. THIS POSITION INVOLVES WORKING ON A TEMP/SEASONAL CONTRACT WHICH CAN BE RENEWED ANNUALLY BASED ON PERFORMANCE AND BUSINESS NEEED.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/G.E.D. Certificate and two (2) years' experience in public contact work, preferably involving security required, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
