Job summary

The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission is seeking a Park Ranger 1 for Fields Spring State Park in the Blue Mountains of southeast Washington. This is a full-time permanent position with housing available at a subsidized cost and a requirement for in-office presence.

You will provide day-to-day customer service, enforce park rules, assist area staff, and perform routine maintenance and administrative duties as part of a diverse park operations team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• United States citizen or legal to work in the U.S.
• A valid driver's license (unrestricted, other than corrective lenses).
• Must be 21 years old.
• Two years of college (60 semester or 90 quarter credits), military experience, commissioned law enforcement experience, natural resource, or recreation field experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties of rule and regulation compliance for the park area and educates visitors on rules and Discover Pass enforcement.
• Provides routine maintenance and stewardship functions within the park area, including grounds and facilities upkeep.
• Provides registration and customer service functions for park visitors.
• Performs administrative duties (hiring paperwork, CRTs) and assists with records.
• Supervises lower-level staff, volunteers, and ensures compliance with policies.
