Join a leading state agency as a Park Ranger Assistant at a popular state park. This temporary position involves providing excellent customer service, hosting visitors, and ensuring safety while interpreting the natural features of the park. Ideal candidates will have a background in park management or customer service. Weekend and holiday availability is required.
Managing and conserving Arizona’s natural, cultural, and recreational resources for the benefit of the people both in our parks and through our partners. The agency protects and preserves 30 State Parks and Natural Areas, including the State Trails Program, outdoor-related Grants Program, State Historic Preservation Office, Off-Highway Vehicle Program, and more. Arizona State Parks and Trails provides over 1,400 camping and RV sites and manages 8 of the top 25 most visited natural attractions in Arizona.
This is a Temporary/Seasonal Position
May work up to 40 hours per week and up to 1500 hours per calendar year.
MUST BE ABLE TO WORK WEEKENDS, EVENINGS, AND HOLIDAYS
Under supervision, performs various activities while providing customer service in the operation of a recreational/natural resource park; interprets natural features of the area, and ensures public safety by enforcing park rules and regulations.
The ideal candidate will have one year of customer service experience or a Bachelor's degree in Park Management, Forestry, Natural Resource Management, or a related field. Equivalent training and experience may be considered.
