Job summary

The City of Eugene is seeking an experienced Public Works Maintenance Supervisor, Park Operations to lead maintenance across Eugene’s parks system. You will coordinate activities, supervise staff, manage budgets, and ensure high standards of safety and service within allocated regions.

Working with the Park Operations Leadership Team, you will implement programs, plan long-term maintenance, and respond to emergencies as part of our ICS framework.

Qualifications

• Five years of increasingly responsible field maintenance operations experience, including two years supervisory responsibility or four years as lead-worker.
• Associate degree in a related field.
• Must pass a background check.
• Valid Oregon driver’s license or ability to obtain by date of hire; driving record must meet standards.
• Oregon Department of Agriculture Public Pesticide License (Category 802 Ornamental & Turf Herbicide) within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate maintenance activities and projects throughout a region of Eugene’s developed parks system.
• Supervise, train and evaluate assigned staff; manage workloads and ensure proper training.
• Develop and monitor budgets; manage accounts payable and procurement card processes.
• Analyze and evaluate current operational procedures and maintenance programs; implement long-range strategies.
• Operate under an ICS system and respond to emergencies and public works events.
• Evaluate completed maintenance work to ensure adherence to standards and regulations.
• Serve on the rotational on-call supervisors and managers team for after-hours responses.
