Job summary

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is seeking an OPS PARK RANGER for Gamble Rogers Memorial SRA in Flagler Beach, FL. This role focuses on maintenance, visitor services, and park protection to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors.

You will perform routine upkeep, assist guests, manage resources, and support daily operations. The position requires rotating shifts, some evenings and holidays, and the ability to lift 40 pounds.

Qualifications

  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Background check and fingerprinting.
  • Ability to perform maintenance, facilities cleaning, and grounds upkeep.
  • Experience with basic plumbing and electrical work is preferred.
  • Ability to operate park vehicles and small trucks/UTVs.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness of grounds and facilities including restrooms and campsites.
  • Provide visitor services and explain facilities and rules.
  • Assist in natural and cultural resource activities and plant removal.
  • Complete timesheets and park administration tasks.
  • Perform routine park patrols and operation openings/closings.
