Job summary

Pasco County is seeking a Crew Leader - Active Parks to supervise skilled and semiskilled maintenance work on park grounds, athletic fields, facilities, and buildings. The role involves leading staff, coordinating materials and equipment, and ensuring safety practices are followed.

Responsibilities include directing construction/maintenance tasks, operating equipment, and maintaining records. Weekend or holiday work may be required, with emphasis on teamwork and public relations.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.
• Two years of experience in park maintenance or construction including six months in a lead or semi supervisory capacity.
• One year of related college and/or trade school preferred.

Responsibilities

• Leads, assists, and helps supervise the completion of construction and maintenance activities assigned to park operations and maintenance staff.
• Performs equipment operation in required tasks and inspects work to ensure high standards.
• Coordinates materials, supplies, equipment, and personnel to ensure completion of assignments.
• Provides staff with instruction and advice on problems encountered during the workday and assists with training.
• Maintains written records and reports and communicates with supervision as needed.
