Job summary

The City of Kent is hiring Park Operations Temporary Laborers for seasonal work. You’ll perform routine grounds maintenance such as mowing, weed-eating, seeding, and fertilizing lawns. You’ll assist with fields, clean facilities, and help during events, while operating various park equipment and light vehicles.

Qualified applicants will have a Washington State driver's license, a high school diploma or equivalent, and be at least 18. Park maintenance experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Must have valid Washington State Driver’s License and be able to verify employment eligibility.
  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent; background check may be required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Park maintenance experience or related landscape/building maintenance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Parks staff with routine grounds maintenance (mowing, weed-eating, seeding, fertilizing).
  • Drag, line, and prep sports fields; clean dugouts; trail maintenance.
  • Clean restrooms and manage litter; handle garbage control.
  • Operate small tractors and small riding lawn mowers; transport personnel/materials.
  • Support staff during events and volunteer projects.
  • Operate City vehicles safely to transport people and equipment.
