Job summary

North Dakota Parks & Recreation Department in Fort Ransom seeks a results-driven leader to oversee daily park operations, budgeting, and strategic planning. You will hire and mentor seasonal staff and volunteers, ensuring safety and a welcoming guest experience.

You will promote conservation, community partnerships, and interpretive programs that highlight the park’s natural and cultural significance while managing on-site housing and flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in park management, natural resources, recreation, hospitality, environmental studies, public administration, or related field.
• Two or more years of leadership, team management, or supervisory experience.
• Two or more years of customer service or public-facing experience in parks, recreation, or hospitality.
• Ability to obtain North Dakota Peace Officer License within 12 months.
• Ability to obtain North Dakota driver's license within six months.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Park Manager to oversee daily operations, manage budgets, and support strategic planning.
• Hire, train, schedule, and guide seasonal staff and volunteers to foster a collaborative and supportive work environment.
• Ensure compliance with safety, accessibility, and environmental standards while maintaining high visitor satisfaction.
• Be a visible and welcoming presence for park guests, promoting safety and inclusivity.
• Lead educational and interpretive programs that celebrate the park's natural, cultural, and historical significance.
• Collaborate with maintenance to care for trails, facilities, and campgrounds; support conservation initiatives.
