The Cordova Recreation & Park District (District) is seeking a self‑driven candidate for the Park Services Department with the assigned responsibility of working throughout the District on the Detail crew. The Detail crew services parks and facilities by performing custodial, maintenance, and general landscape duties.
This is a full‑time entry level position with a comprehensive benefits package that includes fully paid medical, dental, and vision for the employee and all eligible dependents along with participation in the CalPERS Retirement System.

Under general supervision of assigned supervisory staff, performs a variety of skilled and specialized work in the maintenance and operation of District parks and facilities; assists in the direction, supervision, and work of park maintenance activities; maintains and operates a variety of hand and power tools and equipment; and performs a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned areas of responsibility.
This is the journey level class within the Park Maintenance Worker series. Employees within this class are distinguished from the Park Maintenance Worker II level by the latter’s responsibility for performing the most difficult and responsible types of duties assigned to classes within this series.

We provide quality recreational programs, parks and services for our diverse and growing region. We currently operate over 50 parks and facilities across more than 600 acres of urban and open space. We also operate Cordova Golf Course which is a full-service 18-Hole course with a lighted driving range, pro-shop and lessons from PGA professionals. We host dozens of events throughout the year and provide athletic, educational and creative outlets for children and adults of all ages.

Education and Experience Guidelines - Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade and one year of experience in the maintenance and repair of parks and facilities.
Possession of a valid Class C (basic, non-commercial) California driver's license is required. Must provide a current copy of Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) driving record prior to appointment to job.
Applicants must be at least eighteen (18) years of age prior to appointment due to the hazards of the job, as defined by the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Department of Justice (DOJ) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) background checks.
Required to take and pass a pre-employment physical examination and drug screening.
