Job summary

State of Oklahoma, Oklahoma Department of Tourism and Recreation, is seeking a Construction/Maintenance Technician for Roman Nose State Park. This entry-level position covers care and maintenance of park property, from lawn work to minor construction.

Compensation starts at $15.00/hr with potential increase after a one-year trial. Benefits include retirement match up to 7%, holidays, paid leave, and longevity payments. Position is full-time, regular, with on-site duties at the park.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have at least two (2) years' experience in one or more building trade or equivalent.
• Must be able to perform tasks involving bending, stooping, squatting, walking and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Some locations will require a valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Cuts grass, weeds, trees and brush; cleans culverts, drains and ditches.
• Installs, replaces, maintains plumbing fixtures and related equipment; makes minor repairs.
• Performs construction or renovation of buildings or additions; erects scaffolds, fences and structures; repairs fixtures; glazes windows.
• Maintains and repairs light fixtures, switches, motors; oils and cleans equipment; minor electrical repairs.
• Installs locks and security devices; changes tumblers and keys; uses tools to alter security hardware.
• Constructs and repairs foundations; builds walls, walks, fireplaces and stairs; lays bricks or concrete blocks.
• Operates and maintains equipment used in construction and park maintenance (trucks, mowers, etc.).
• Other duties as assigned.
