Lane County Public Works is seeking a Park Maintenance 2 to care for more than 4,000 acres of parks, natural areas and recreational spaces throughout the Willamette Valley. This hands-on position supports daily maintenance, safety and appearance of Lane County parks, and requires dependable teamwork and a valid Oregon driver’s license.

The role is represented (626) and aligns with Lane County Parks’ mission to protect public spaces for current and future generations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of park, grounds, or building trades experience.
• Valid Oregon driver's license.
• Background check required (7-year).

About the Position

This hands‑on position supports the daily maintenance, safety and appearance of Lane County parks. The successful candidate will be dependable, work well as part of a team and share our commitment to protecting public spaces for current and future generations.

About the Division

Lane County Parks has over 4,000 acres of rich natural, recreational, and cultural assets. Parks recognizes the value in collaboration and strategic planning. Parks staff, partner agencies, and volunteer groups work together to sustain the diverse features of our parks and to provide opportunities for the public to enjoy them far into the future

Schedule

Monday - Thursday, 7:00am - 5:30pm. Shifts change seasonally per operational needs.

Training

• Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.

Experience

• One year of experience in the performance of skilled and semi-skilled building trades and/or ground maintenance tasks, preferably in a park environment.
• An equivalent combination of experience and training that will demonstrate the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Possession of a valid Oregon Driver’s license at time of appointment.
• The selected candidate for this position is required to pass a seven-year criminal history background check before entering County employment.
