Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent and a valid Massachusetts driver's license.
• Two to three years of related groundskeeping experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate motorized riding equipment to maintain athletic fields and grounds; perform general maintenance and repair of department property, facilities, and equipment.
• Mow and trim grass in parks; may direct assigned seasonal employees.
• Picks up litter in parks and operates a trash packer on a schedule.
• Inspect and maintain assigned equipment to ensure readiness for daily operations.
• Assist in departmental activities such as sailing equipment prep, flooding skating areas, and snow removal.
• Use hand, power, and electrical tools for building maintenance and repairs (painting, carpentry, concrete).
• Operate trucks to reach work areas and transport tools; operate mowers and plows as needed.
• May direct activities of seasonal personnel while performing the same duties.
• Perform other duties of similar nature and complexity.
