Job summary

The City of Holland is seeking a Mowing Crew member to perform routine grounds maintenance across city parks and public spaces. You will operate a range of mowing equipment and assist in keeping park properties safe, clean, and attractive while following schedules and safety guidelines.

This role requires 18+ years of age, a valid Michigan driver's license, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Effective communication with residents and coworkers is essential.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Possess a valid Michigan driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record for city vehicles.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions and route assignments.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with dependable attendance.
• Ability to communicate respectfully and provide helpful service when interacting with the public.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled mowing and grounds maintenance in City parks and other assigned properties.
• Operate riding, zero-turn, and walk-behind mowers and related grounds maintenance equipment.
• Trim grass around trees, fences, signs, landscape areas, buildings, and park amenities.
• Remove grass clippings and debris from sidewalks, trails, and paved surfaces.
• Inspect areas before mowing, remove hazards, and report damage or safety concerns.
• Follow mowing routes and schedules while meeting quality standards and directions.
