Job summary

Jekyll Island Authority seeks a Park Services custodian to perform custodial duties and maintain clean facilities for guests. Responsibilities include cleaning restrooms, restocking supplies, and pressure washing shelters, tables, and walkways.

The role requires weekend, holiday, and occasional evening availability as part of a regular 40-hour week. The position is full-time, offers health, vision, dental, life insurance, paid vacation and holidays, and a retirement plan.

Qualifications

• 6 to 12 months of cleaning and maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment preferred.
• Ability to follow guidelines and work independently; good communication skills.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a motor vehicle.
• Must be reliable with weekend, holiday, and occasional evening availability.

Responsibilities

• Performs custodial work to maintain buildings and grounds; scrubs, sweeps, mops, vacuums, waxes, and polishes floors; cleans restrooms; removes trash and participates in cleaning actions.
• Cleans public restrooms, restocks supplies, cleans mirrors and floors, and applies air fresheners.
• Maintains cleaning supplies on route truck; requests and picks up supplies from warehouse.
• Safely operates motor vehicle to locations on assigned route.
• Cleans buildings and structures; cleans fixtures, vacuums, and dusts as necessary.
• Pressure washes shelters, tables, and walkways as required.
• Picks up and disposes of trash; ensures reservation forms are posted timely; performs other duties as assigned.
