Job summary

Park City Ski & Snowboard (PCSS) seeks a passionate and dedicated Cross Country Competition Team Assistant Coach to develop Nordic athletes and uphold PCSS’s values of Passion, Accountability, Respect, Team, and Integrity. This is a part-time, hourly, non-exempt role with May–March employment status.

Responsibilities include supporting the head coach, attending 3–5 practices per week with prep time, and assisting in competition preparation and execution.

Qualifications

• Experience working with youth athletes and ability to communicate clearly.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills; able to work independently.
• Hold a current US Ski & Snowboard Level 100 coaches license and SafeSport compliance.
• First aid, CPR, and AED certifications; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Support head coach in implementing training programs and season plan.
• Attend 3–5 practice sessions per week with preparation time.
• Assist in competition preparation and execution.
• Contribute to team culture development and athlete progression.
• Support PCSS-hosted events and fundraising initiatives.
• Maintain knowledge of Nordic regulations and race-day operations.
• Assist with race-day waxing, equipment prep, and on-site coaching.
• Participate in staff meetings and development sessions; educate parents.
• Support end-of-season evaluation and awards process.
• Travel to competitions and training camps; manage team logistics.

Physical Requirements

• Ability and willingness to work outdoors in all temperatures and weather extremes.
• Assist at practice and competition sites, including the ability to lift heavy objects.
• Stamina to demonstrate and participate in training sessions
• Ability to manage high-stress environments while maintaining positivity
