The City of High Point is seeking a Park Attendant-Operations to operate amusements and concessions, assist with marina operations, and serve as an event host at High Point City Lake Park Meeting & Event Center. Responsibilities include operating amusement rides (pontoon boat, carousel, miniature train, putt-putt golf), managing marina activities (ticket sales, vessel rentals, maintenance), and assisting with event setups. The role involves routine maintenance, customer service, enforcing policies, and working flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays. Work is supervised by a Park Supervisor.

Responsibilities include:

1. Opening and closing facilities for use and reservations.
2. Assisting with setup, breakdown, and cleanup of programs, reservations, and events.
3. Providing excellent customer service and enforcing rules.
4. Selling permits, renting boats and equipment, and operating amusement rides.
5. Performing daily maintenance and informing patrons of regulations.
6. Operating concession stands and overseeing miniature golf.
7. Preparing food and reselling items.
8. Ensuring safety and compliance with OSHA standards.

Qualifications

• Valid North Carolina Driver’s license.
• Ability to work well with all ages, especially children.
• Flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Minimum age: 18 to operate rides, 16 for other tasks.

Physical Requirements

Must have good hearing, speaking, visual acuity, depth perception, and field of vision. Capable of exerting up to 50 pounds, with physical activities including walking, standing, bending, and lifting.

Mental and Environmental Conditions

Requires logical reasoning, basic math skills, and effective communication in English. Work is outdoors, exposing employees to weather and potential hazards, with safety standards enforced.

Tools and Equipment

Includes amusement rides, boats, concession machines, and cleaning tools.
