Job summary

The Archdiocese of St. Louis is seeking a custodian to work evenings or weekends on an as-needed basis for our parish and school facilities. This role involves cleaning after events and ensuring spaces are orderly and safe.

The successful candidate will perform cleaning duties, assist with snow removal when required, and report maintenance or safety concerns to parish and school staff. Candidates should be dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.

Qualifications

• Evenings and/or weekends as needed.
• Physically able to lift, bend, stand, and operate cleaning equipment.
• Willingness and ability to assist with snow removal as needed.
• Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
• Dependable, punctual, and respectful of parish property.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain parish and school facilities after scheduled events
• Sweep and mop floors in classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas
• Clean and sanitize restrooms
• Clean glass doors, windows, and other surfaces as needed
• Dust furniture, fixtures, and other surfaces
• Empty trash and replace liners
• Ensure facilities are returned to a clean and orderly condition after use
• Assist with snow removal across parish and school grounds as needed, including walkways and entrances
• Report maintenance or safety concerns to appropriate parish or school personnel
