Job summary

Our Lady of the Assumption Parish seeks a Parish Facilities Manager to oversee maintenance and operations of all parish facilities. Responsibilities include church, chapel, parish office upkeep, and grounds.

Must have working knowledge of HVAC and safety systems, plus experience in minor repairs (carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting). Role requires ability to lift up to 50 lbs, on-call availability for emergencies, and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Experience with minor repairs in carpentry, electrical, plumbing and painting is preferred.
• Experience implementing a cleaning plan for a facility, including cleaning and waxing.
• Experience maintaining grounds and parking areas.

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend and lift up to 50 lbs.
• On-call availability for emergencies.
• Must provide own transportation for job duties.
• Familiarity with Catholic culture is helpful.

Responsibilities

JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE: Parish Facilities Manager

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversees maintenance and operations of all parish facilities

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Pastor, Business Manager

POSITION PURPOSE: This position requires a working knowledge of HVAC systems, safety & security systems, light mechanical, plumbing, painting, carpentry repairs, basic maintenance and custodial duties.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure that all parish facilities and property are maintained in a clean, safe and functional manner. This includes, but is not limited to, grass cutting, weeding, planting, tree and bush trimming as needed. It also includes removal of all old flowers and plants in the parish cemetery.

Responsible for weekly cleaning of the Church, Sacred Heart Chapel, Parish Restrooms and Parish Office and kitchen. Also responsible for annual deep cleaning and waxing school classrooms and hallways.

Performs minor maintenance and repair of the parish facilities. This includes light carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and minor repair work on equipment as needed.

Assures collection and disposal of trash and garbage.

Oversees contracted work for major and ongoing maintenance, repair and improvement projects as needed.

Provides other general assistance as needed through setting up chairs and tables as requested; hauls and moves items and picks up parts or other equipment as requested by staff.

Maintains an inventory of supplies and materials and orders them as required.

Occasionally on-call to respond to emergencies outside of scheduled work hours.

REPRESENTATIVE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Working knowledge of HVAC and safety & security systems.

Previous experience in minor repair work in carpentry, electrical, plumbing and painting.

Previous experience in implementing a comprehensive cleaning plan for a facility, including sweeping, dusting, washing, and waxing.

Previous experience in maintenance of grounds and parking lots.

Ability to work well with staff, parishioners and contractors.

Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Ability to provide own transportation for job related responsibilities.

On-call availability for emergencies.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

High School diploma or GED.

Have familiarity with Catholic culture.
