Job summary

St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Cordova, TN seeks a creative Communications Coordinator to lead print and digital communications—weekly bulletin, website, social media, emails, and promotional materials.

The role demands excellent writing, editing, design awareness, and strong project management in a collaborative parish setting. You'll partner with staff, ministry leaders, and school/diocesan contacts to share parish life, promote ministries, and ensure a welcoming, consistent voice

Qualifications

• Catholic in good standing and able to support parish mission.
• Excellent written, verbal, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative abilities with staff, volunteers, and diocesan contacts.
• Experience in communications, marketing, public relations, graphic design, social media, or related areas.
• Strong visual and creative skills for print and digital communications.
• Excellent planning, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Discretion and sound judgment handling confidential information.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe InDesign.
• Familiarity with graphic design, website CMS, email, social media; Mac helpful.
• Willingness to learn new communications platforms and technology.
• Some college coursework or degree in related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate communications and promotional efforts for parish ministries, programs, events and activities.
• Serve as the primary editor and coordinator of the weekly parish bulletin.
• Write, edit, proofread, and format communications for accuracy and engagement.
• Create flyers, posters, brochures, signage, digital graphics for ministries and events.
• Coordinate materials and displays communicating parish news throughout church spaces.
• Assist with annual parish directory and other publications.
• Maintain parish website; ensure information is current and easy to navigate.
• Prepare, schedule, and distribute communications via Flocknote.
• Create, schedule, and publish content for Facebook and Instagram.
• Coordinate livestreaming and posting of Masses to YouTube as requested.
• Provide front office coverage and assist with baptisms, weddings, and funerals as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding parishioners and sensitive information.
