Job Description

OLPH is seeking a bilingual full-time Parish Assistant to the Director of Operations, especially as our parish secretary retires at the end of June. This role involves being the first point of contact for visitors and callers, supporting the clergy, and assisting with various parish functions.

Essential Functions
  • Welcome visitors and callers, providing assistance and information.
  • Manage intake processes for baptisms, weddings, and funerals.
  • Maintain the Parish Management Database (Ministry Platform) and serve as the primary contact for its use.
  • Oversee online giving via OnlineGiving.org, creating and editing giving pages and assisting users.
  • Design LED sign announcements using WatchfireIgnite.com.
  • Manage the Money Counting Ministry, train counters, and ensure accurate deposits.
  • Handle parish communications, including correspondence, event calendars, and weekly summaries.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Friendly, engaging personality with active listening skills.
  • Discretion and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in English; Spanish speaking skills are a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, prioritize tasks, and solve problems.
  • Computer skills in MS Word, Excel, Publisher, and parish databases.
  • Knowledge of the Catholic Church is preferred.
