Purdue University, located in West Lafayette, IN, seeks a Financial & Reporting Accountant to support the Purdue Applied Research Institute (PARI). You will handle complex financial reporting and collaborate with PARI and Purdue Finance to meet accounting needs in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Responsibilities include timely processing of transactions, monthly and year-end close, and developing new reports or processes through cross-functional projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Five years of Accounting or Financial Analyst experience.
  • Experience with SAP, or other ERP system.
  • Must be proficient in Excel; knowledge of SAP is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of GAAP is critical; GASB pronouncements preferred.
  • Ability to identify and determine proper accounting treatment of intercompany transactions.
  • Capable of taking initiative, assuming responsibility, working independently, and contributing to a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and prepare complex data analysis and present data according to requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, interpret, and implement new accounting standards, university policies, and procedures.
  • Experience in non-profit or higher education administration is helpful; CPA is a plus.
