Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland and East Central Ohio is seeking a full-time Parenting Skill Instructor/Family Coach to support families with parenting skills and decision-making. Services may occur in classroom settings or at home, aligned with court-ordered plans and program goals.

You will guide families through lifestyle changes to promote a functional family unit and better child outcomes while collaborating with the agency to ensure consistent support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, or Child Development (or 5 years of family work experience).
• First Aid and CPR certification required.
• Valid driver's license and automotive insurance; provide proof regularly.
• Willingness to travel within communities served.
• Ability to perform physical requirements as described in job posting.
• Background and FBI/BCI checks required.

Job description

Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland and East Central Ohio is seeking a full-time Parenting Skill Instructor/Family Coach to join our team.

As a Perenting Skill Instructor/Family Coach, you will teach parenting skills and appropriate decision‑making techniques to individuals who are at risk of or have previously lost custody of their child.

Depending on the family's needs, the services will be provided in a classroom setting and at home. The individual should receive consistent guidance, direction, and support that correlate with their court-ordered case plan, program goals, and necessary lifestyle changes to promote a functional family unit.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, Child Development, or 5 years of experience working with families and children.
• A certificate in First Aid and CPR is required and will be provided by the agency.
• Must have a valid driver's license and automotive insurance. Must regularly provide the agency with proof of valid automotive insurance.
• Travel within communities served.
• Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position, including but not limited to inside, sedentary work; constant bilateral reaching at all levels; constant handling/fingering; fine finger for computer operation and writing; frequently stand, sit, and
