Job summary

Fulton County Schools seeks a dedicated coordinator to support District Title I schools by implementing policies and coordinating programs that build capacity for parental involvement. This role works with Palmetto Elementary to connect families with Title I resources and training.

The position emphasizes collaboration with staff, managing the Parent Resource Center, organizing workshops, and communicating with families through newsletters and the website.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an educational or social services environment.
• Knowledge of No Child Left Behind Act of 2001.
• Ability to plan, organize, manage, and implement successful programs.
• Strong interpersonal and public relations skills.
• Ability to relate/interact with diverse cultures and social groups.
• Must exercise strict confidentiality handling sensitive information.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Parent Resource Center operations and greet parents.
• Develop and maintain a Parent Library and provide training for parents.
• Assist parents with understanding Title I Part A, NCLB, AYP, report cards, and school improvement.
• Provide orientation for new parents and create opportunities for parent involvement.
• Coordinate academic-based learning opportunities/workshops for parents at flexible times.
• Organize and train volunteers; recruit and retain volunteers.
• Advertise Title I Parent Involvement activities through various media.
• Communicate with parents via newsletters, Parent Center updates, and the website.
• Serve as liaison between the school and Title I Office Parent Involvement and SES.
• Respond to parent inquiries (calls, emails, letters) and assist with progress reports.
• Participate in early release conferences and explain progress reports and report cards.
• Calculate and maintain data on parental involvement and complete Title I documentation on time.
• Assist in developing and monitoring Parent Involvement Budget and Title I records.
• Collaborate with staff to coordinate meetings/workshops for parents.
• Conduct surveys and program evaluations of parent activities and Title I programs.
• Assist in developing and implementing Parental Involvement Policy and school compact.
• Serve as liaison between school and community to access resources.
• Develop partnerships with social agencies and engage PTA and Parent Involvement Committee.
• Attend meetings and professional learning as directed by Title I Office.
