  • Use approved curricula to teach parenting skills, discipline strategies, communication, child development, and positive behavior reinforcement.
  • Observe and model appropriate parent‑child interactions.
  • Assist families in setting and working toward parenting goals that align with DCS plans.
  • Document session progress, maintain accurate records, and submit timely reports.
  • Attend case conferences and collaborate with DCS and other service providers as needed.
  • Maintain flexible scheduling to accommodate families, including some evenings and weekends.
  • Ensure services are trauma‑informed, culturally competent, and strength‑based.
Skills & Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • At least 4 years of full‑time employment experience providing direct casework services to children and/or families, including assistance in the protection and care of their children.
  • Strong documentation, time management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain professional boundaries.
  • Must pass background checks as required by DCS guidelines (criminal, educational, references, employment, and child protective services).
  • Shared life experiences and familiarity with the communities where they will be working.
  • Must be able to carry appropriate caseloads.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to use a private car, with applicable insurance, to transport self and others.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Willingness to drive within assigned counties.
