Job summary

West Tennessee Healthcare in Jackson, TN seeks a program assistant to strengthen parent-child relationships and improve parenting skills for families at risk. The role supports optimizing home environments for children's wellbeing and may include transportation responsibilities.

You will establish trust with families, develop case plans with supervision, and collaborate with social service agencies to link families with resources.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalency required.
• Must complete all Parents as Teachers training components during orientation period.
• Completion of all AIMHI-TN components recommended during orientation period.
• Valid Tennessee Driver’s License required.
• Two (2) years of experience working with or providing services to children and their families is preferred.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English.
• Knowledge of local resources.

Responsibilities

• Establishes a trusting relationship with families by initiating and maintaining regular family contact.
• Establishes a family case plan with goals, objectives, and activities with the family and supervisor.
• Uses observation skills to assess family dynamics and implements appropriate interventions.
• Acts as a liaison between community resources and families; makes referrals as needed.
• Documents pertinent information related to family observation and worker intervention in the family file.
• Attends and participates in regular staff meetings, case conferences, and other required meetings.
