Aunt Martha’s Health & Wellness in Kankakee, IL is hiring a Parent Child Advocate (PCA) for full-time positions. The role involves implementing the Healthy Families America home visiting model to strengthen parent-child relationships and promote healthy development, with emphasis on communication, organization, and compassionate service.

Responsibilities include prenatal education, bonding activities, screenings, referrals, and coordination of services.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 1–2 years of related experience required; OR Associate’s degree with one year of related experience; OR Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and proficiency in data entry.
• Experience serving culturally diverse families and communities.
• Experience working with children and families; knowledge of parent-child relationship preferred.
• Experience serving multi-stressed families preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain supportive, strength-based, culturally sensitive relationships with pregnant women and their families.
• Provide prenatal and postnatal education on fetal development, labor and delivery, postpartum recovery, and breastfeeding.
• Implement curriculum to strengthen parent-child interactions and promote bonding.
• Deliver developmentally appropriate information and activities to support child development.
• Conduct developmental screenings and assessments as required.
• Collaborate with families to establish individualized family goal plans.
• Provide assistance overcoming barriers by offering resources and referrals.
• Support and ensure access to healthcare and safety for children in the program.
• Engage families through home visits, virtual sessions, or phone contact.
• Use personal vehicle to conduct home visits and travel for services.
• Participate in outreach to recruit and retain participants.
• Coordinate group services including childcare, meals, and transportation.
• Engage in reflective supervision and continuous improvement.
• Collect and submit accurate data per program requirements.
• Provide outstanding customer service using AIDET model.
