Job summary

Supreme Rice is seeking a Parboil Assistant Supervisor to oversee daily rough rice parboil operations and inventory at the Mermentau, LA location. You will supervise personnel, ensure GMP and PPE compliance, and coordinate with other mill departments as needed.

The role requires willingness to learn parboil machinery, perform duties across departments, and strict adherence to safety and food-safety protocols. Physical work including climbing and lifting may be required.

Qualifications

• Must follow GMPs and PPE requirements.
• Must be willing to learn rough rice parboil equipment and related machinery.
• Must be capable of climbing ~300 ft to take inventory.
• Must learn rice grading procedures.
• Must be willing to perform tasks in other mill departments as needed.
• Abide by safety regulations and report food safety issues.

General Job Description:

Parboil Assistant Supervisor is responsible for maintaining daily rough rice parboil operations, managing rough rice parboil personnel and responsible for daily inventory status of their rough rice parboil location.

Requirements:

• Must understand and follow company Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Personnel Practices.
• Must understand and explain the use and requirements of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Must be willing to learn rough rice parboil equipment and other machinery pertaining to the rough rice parboil process.
• Must be capable to climb approximately 300 feet to take inventory.
• Must learn rice grading procedures.
• Be willing and physically capable of performing other tasks within different departments of the mill on a temporary basis as needed.
• Abide by all safety regulations and standards established by Supreme Rice.
• Must report all food safety issues to personnel with authority to initiate action.
• Portion of this job may require you to lift material weighing 50 lb.
• Perform other duties directed by your Supervisor.
• Must be able to fulfill essential job function in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.
