Job summary

Oahu Transit Services in Honolulu is seeking a skilled general mechanic to inspect, repair, and service gasoline and diesel vans and other fleet vehicles. You will service engines and related components to keep our buses and equipment operating reliably.

Candidates should have a high school or trade school background, at least four years in automotive work, and ASE certifications preferred. You must provide your own tools and be able to pass a company medical exam and drug screen as part of DOT

Qualifications

• Must have high school or trade school graduate.
• Must have four (4) years' practical work experience in the automotive and/or light duty truck/bus field. A.S.E. certifications preferred.
• Must have own tools.
• Must have valid Type 3 Hawaii State driver's license with clean driving abstract.
• Must pass company-administered written examination.
• Must be willing and able to work various shifts.

Essential Functions for the Position:

Required to perform inspections, repairs, overhaul maintenance and servicing of gasoline and diesel vans, and other automotive equipment and their components, and perform other related work as required.

Special Knowledge & Skills:

1. Must be a general mechanic familiar with all aspects of gasoline and diesel engine repair, preferably Ford diesel and gas electronically controlled engines.

Education, Training & Experience:

1. Must be high school or trade school graduate.
2. Must have four (4) years' practical work experience in the automotive and/or light duty truck/bus field. A.S.E. certifications preferred.

Other Job Requirement & Conditions:
