Job summary

The City of Greenville seeks a Paratransit Driver to operate a specialized van with wheelchair lift, providing safe, timely and courteous transport for paratransit passengers in line with ADA, City rules, and policies. You will securely fasten mobility devices in the vehicle and complete daily records reflecting passenger activity.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• At least six months of driving experience.
• Knowledge of safe operation of a transit vehicle.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Operate a specialized vehicle with wheelchair lift to transport paratransit passengers.
• Ensure compliance with traffic rules and federal/local regulations for safe operation of a transit vehicle.
• Assist passengers with boarding and alighting, including lift and securing wheelchairs.
• Collect fares and maintain daily records of passenger activity.
• Perform thorough vehicle inspections and maintain interior cleanliness.
