Job summary

GAAMHA is seeking a Transit Driver to provide safe, dignified transportation for our community. The role focuses on assisting riders, including wheelchair users, with loading, securing, and travel, while maintaining professional communication with staff.

Work hours range from 20 to 30 per week, with evening and weekend availability as needed. Responsibilities include documenting trips, vehicle checks, and supporting transit operations.

Qualifications

• Pass pre-employment drug screen, CORI, fingerprinting.
• Obtain hackney license (fees paid by GAAMHA).
• Two years of full-time employment with at least six months in related field; three years driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe daily transportation of all clients assigned.
• Assist riders with boarding/exiting, seat belts, wheelchair securement.
• Push, pull, and secure wheelchairs to meet safety standards.
• Maintain logs, vehicle checklists, time cards, and cell phone as required.
• Attend mandatory in-service and training sessions; be available for evenings/weekends.
