Job description

Job Description

As a Paraprofessional with The Menta Group, you will work with classroom instructors and staff to provide targeted teaching and support to students in the classroom, as well as general support for all students in the school.

Hours: 7:30 am to 3 pm, Mon-Fri, following the school calendar

Responsibilities
  • Manage classroom behaviors
  • Report behavioral concerns of students to appropriate staff
  • Implement and maintain behavioral program policies and data
  • Maintain classroom order and safety
  • Supervise students inside the school setting
  • Assist in preventing and managing incidents of non-compliance or escalation in behavior
  • Monitor for issues that could disrupt learning or pose safety concerns, and report them
  • Respond to emergency situations
  • Provide interventions to help students manage behaviors
  • Think quickly, independently, and tactfully
Qualifications
  • Certified Registered Behavior Technician
  • Paraprofessional Certification is preferred; we can assist in obtaining it
  • Background in Security or Juvenile Justice is helpful
  • Military Veterans are encouraged to apply
  • Good driving record; willingness and ability to drive student van (no CDL needed) is preferred
  • Ability to operate tactfully under stress
  • Flexibility to adapt routines
  • Minimum age: 23 years
  • Ability to work with high-risk, special needs students
