Job description

Job Description

As a Paraprofessional with The Menta Group, you will work with classroom instructors and staff to provide targeted teaching and support to students, as well as general support for all students in the school.

Responsibilities
  • Manage classroom behaviors
  • Report behavioral concerns of students to appropriate staff
  • Implement and maintain behavioral program policies and data
  • Maintain classroom order and safety
  • Provide general supervision of students inside the school setting
  • Assist in preventing and managing incidents of non-compliance and escalation in behavior
  • Monitor for problems that could disrupt the educational process or pose safety concerns, and report these conditions
  • Respond to emergency situations
  • Provide interventions to help students manage behaviors
  • Think quickly, independently, and tactfully
Qualifications
  • Certified Registered Behavior Technician
  • Paraprofessional Certification (help available if needed) is preferred
  • Security or Juvenile Justice background is helpful
  • Military Veterans are encouraged to apply
  • Good driving record; willingness and ability to drive student van (No CDL needed) is preferred
  • Ability to operate tactfully under stress
  • Flexibility to adapt routines
  • At least 23 years old
  • Ability to work with high-risk, special needs students
