Job Description (Paraprofessional/Teacher's Assistant):

• Teacher Assistant is directly responsible to specific group assignments.
• Responsible for implementation of daily and weekly programs as assigned by NYSED certified teacher for each student in assigned group.
• Assist in any clerical work (i.e. daily attendance, requisitions, trip lists, graphing data).
• Responsible for carrying out daily schedules as developed and planned.
• Responsible for participating in in-service training, CPR, behavior analysis training program and completing one book/quiz per month.
• Teacher Assistant instructs students in daily proper hygiene habits.
• Assists in accompanying students to medical office, and off-grounds medical appointments or other services as needed.

Required education:

Associate Degree from accredited college or 48 credits at a 4 year accredited college preferred. Minimum High School Diploma

• Sensitivity to the needs of all students.
• A desire to acquire effective training techniques in behavior analysis programming

Required license or certification (if applicable):

Current NYSED Teacher Assistant Certification OR Certification obtained within six months of employment.

Pay Range: $20.00-$24.00 an hour.
