Job summary

Ampersand Therapy, a women- and therapist-operated company, seeks Special Education Float Paraprofessionals in the Greater Anoka, MN area to cover call outs across the district.

You’ll work in SPED classrooms with students who have behavior needs, assist with toileting support, and help provide a supportive learning environment.

Qualifications include 60 college credits or a ParaPro credential; background check and drug screening required; prior school setting experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or 60 college credits completed.
• Paraprofessional Credential through Minnesota Department of Education (ParaPro or ParaEducator assessments) or PELSB credential.

Responsibilities

• Float substitute covering call outs district-wide.
• Assist in SPED classrooms with students who have behavior needs.
• Provide toileting support and classroom assistance as needed.

Position Details

• Special Education Paraprofessionals
• Float Substitute Positions: cover call outs throughout the district
• Locations: Champlin, Coon Rapids, Blaine, Anoka, and Andover
• Guaranteed 30 hours on weeks that school is in session Monday-Friday. If there is a shift available, and you do not pick it up, this would be taken away from the guaranteed hours.
• Working in SPED classrooms, working with students with behavior needs, toileting support, etc.
• Requires either 60 college credits or a ParaPro certificate
• Must pass background check and drug screening

What We’re Looking For

• Associates Degree or equivalent, or 2 years post secondary and at least 60 completed credits OR
• Paraprofessional Credential through Minnesota Department of Education (such as passing score on ParaPro or ParaEducator Assessments or credentialed on the PELSB rubric)
• Background check and drug screening required
• Previous experience working in the school setting preferred
